Unless you live alone on an island, conflict with people is inevitable. In today's society, we see a lot of examples of the inability or unwillingness of people to work through disagreements and come to solutions. The Bible tells us that life does not have to be like that. This Sunday, we'll continue looking in book of Proverbs to discover some ways to deal with conflict better and build strong, long-lasting relationships with the people we know. At First Baptist Church, our mission is deeply rooted in our unwavering faith in Christ. With hearts full of love and compassion, we strive to be a guiding light for our community in South Zanesville, Ohio.
We plan to have the church canopy set up outside the entrance to Secrest Auditorium, where we will distribute bottled water, snacks and church gift bags. We need people to help fill the gift bags as well as volunteers for one of the time periods during which we will be at the event.
We are in conversation with a Christian Comedian who will be with us during the worship service. We are planning to have a picnic with games and prizes afterward. We will be looking for people to help with many areas, including distributing advertising prices, welcoming guests, overseeing a game or helping with the picnic. Sign-up sheets will be out soon!
Start thinking about how you can decorate a table for Trunk or Treat. We plan to make this event bigger this year, including an earlier starting time so we can offer food and beverages.
As I look around and see all that God has given us in facility and property, I am reminded that we have a great responsibility to Jesus and to this community to make the best of it in a way that will honor God and help people discover how much God loves them and how their lives can be more meaningful through a relationship with Him. Shining light into the darkness of the culture is not easy and it is rarely received well by those who don’t like it. But, it is why we are here and we want to do it in a way that lives out the words of Ephesians 2:10: “ what we are and given us new lives from Christ Jesus, and long ages ago He planned that we It is God himself who has made us should spend these lives in helping others.”
Being a part of First Baptist Church has been an incredible blessing in my life. From the moment I stepped through the doors, I was warmly welcomed by a community of genuine and caring individuals. The teachings and worship have deepened my faith and brought me closer to God.
